I did, I used a set Jake had on hand on the ship. DH used set from the Golf course...he didn't complain  Just asked him, he said they were pretty good.

My dh golfed at El Cid in Mazatlan, paid $35 for club rentals and $17 to the golf pro/caddy. He liked the clubs and really enjoyed having the golf pro with them. He had a blast. Brought his own shoes and glove. No way was he bringing his clubs with all the stuff we were already bringing. However, my nephew and bil brought their own.

That sounds a right on club rental....but we did tip the Caddy more...we really enjoyed him. We asked the Golf pro what was an acceptable tip, since we had never golfed with one, and he told us....10 per person, but if he is really really good....20 per person. Also tipped the golf pro at the end of the cruise.
