cruiser53 Posted June 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2004 HI, I would like to know if the standard balcony rooms in the aft of the ship on decks 7&8 which are in cat "A" have a larger size balcony then the similar Cat. rooms on the sides of the ship. Oceania, does not make any distinction in thier computers, they just claim that the room is 216 Sq ft, of which the balcony is 43 sq ft. I was given the impression that the balconies in these cabins, 8066,8069,7116,7121 have larger balconies. Can anyone clarify this for me. Thanks for your help Regards, Tony
raffeer Posted June 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2004 I can't give you numbers but they are considerably deeper than the balconies on the regular A cabins. They are same depth as the adjoining owners suites. Does this mean you were lucky enough to get one? Beatrice
cruiser53 Posted June 14, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Hi Beatrice, Thanks for the info, I am going to book tomorrow so I will let you know. I was just curious about the size of the balcony. I guess you had one of these cabins, do you happen to remember what deck you were on. Thanks Tony
douganswerphone Posted June 14, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2004 The fore-and-aft "A" and "B" cabins do indeed have much larger balconies, at least twice the regular size. There are disadvantages, though. The cabins facing forward can be inconvenient to open the sliding door when at sea due to winds created by the ship's forward motion. This is doubly so in bad weather. The aft-facing cabins have balconies that are at least partially visible from upper decks, including the veranda in the Terrace restaurant. So you may wish to reconsider any ideas about nude sunbathing. :0 Doug n Sherry
ClaudiaF Posted June 15, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2004 they are not twice as large as Doug mentioned above, but may be deeper a little bit ( but not much)..
