Parking at Hertz Garage Near New Orleans Pier???

My DH and I sail out out NOLA every year in August or September on whatever, and whoever is sailing out--convenient travelling from our home. One year, after DH dropped me off at the curbside for porter to take luggage--he found a covered garage around the corner with a shuttle back to the terminal. We think it was Hertz and it was either $10 or $11 a day. Last year we were dropped off by friends so did not have that worry. Anyone familiar with the garage I'm speaking of--would love the particulars, including directions from the terminal and present cost for parking? As always, thanks for the help. Love this board!

I'm with Selucrey..:)..that's gotta be the Fulton St. Garage/Hertz. (They're together in the one bldg.)

I've parked there one time, ONLY when I couldn't get into the Port Authority lot. Contrary to what is printed above, I did not have to show any cruise tickets or bag tags. Also, I paid upon return, not upfront. The shuttle is complimentary.

I would try for the Port Authority lot first. Same rate, and much easier, but payable in advance, cash.

We didn't pay until we returned either, just told them when entering we were cruising and they directed us to the correct level. I also prefer the Port Authority lot. Get there around 11:30 and you should find a spot.Very convenient.

They won't let you in the Port Authority Lot until it is entirely cleared out. If you get there early the Fulton/Hertz Parking garage is handy and your vehicle is out of the weather. The shuttle goes continuously back and forth to the pier although it is within walking distance. Another good thing about the parking garage is they take credit cards.
