marydz Posted March 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2007 Good Morning. All past guests on Triumph, I need your help. Is port or starboard side better for an Eastern Caribbean cruise? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mary Carnival Victory Carnival Legend Carnival Legend Carnival Conquest
JimHam4 Posted March 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2007 Coming in to San Juan, the best view was on Port side. At dock in St. Thomas best view was on Starboard, as the Port side looked at the ship next to us in dock (Port here would be better if you like to people watch). At St. Martin, port looked across the water and starboard looked at the ship next door. Of course this could all change if the Triumph gets assigned a different berth at the dock when you arrive. mkshea Posted April 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2007 Hi Mary! Are you looking at the new eastern iternary? It doesn't start until April 21. We are on the May 5th sailing and can let you know. I'll even check out the piano bar, bet it won't be as good as the Conquest! Tell everone that Shea and I said hi. Kelly
CyClore Posted April 18, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2007 I am on the April 21st sailing. I will post a review when I get back...
kgk Posted April 18, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2007 I'm not sure it matters. Often the ships get different berths/piers. And depending on the tide (incoming or outgoing) and the harbor master / pilot, the ship could "back in" or pull straight in.
marydz Posted April 18, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted April 18, 2007 Hi Kelly: How are you and Shea...yes, we are going on the new itinerary but not until Sept. 8th. How funny that you guys are taking the same cruise. You will have to let me know how you liked it and what you did...especially the piano bar. Hard to compare to Damien, though. Are you staying anywhere pre-cruise? Keep in touch and let me know how you liked it. Mary
LDR Posted April 19, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 19, 2007 We are just off Triumph(4/7). We had a port side balcony cabin and this was a good choice for excellent photos. But, you never know about the tides, berths, etc. There is a door all the way forward on deck 7 that goes out onto a deck below the bridge. It was never crowded and you can get some good photos there and enjoy the views as you go into port.
