chen7058 Posted March 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2007 Just off imagination and we had good time ! The ship was a little behind schedule when it arrived at calica, and the elevator and exit were so packed so we had to wait in the lobby for another 20 minutes. There are long line of cabs waiting at the port, but it was very unorganized. Many people lost the patient to wait in line and ran to the taxi directly. Finally we got a cab and told the driver to go to the omni Hotel in Puerto Aventuras for $10. It took about 20 mins to get to the hotel. We have 2 toddlers, so we want to find a quiet and easy place. For $25 dollar each adult, we are free to use their facility, beach, pools with $20 food/drink credit. Not a bad deal. The beach is gorgeous and swimming pool is heated especially for the kid's pool. The marina is just across the street and we watched dolphin shows over there. It was a great moment. We had dinner in the resort, just relax on the beach ..... We got back to the ship around 8 and both my wife and the kids loved it. So if you want to find an easy relaxing place, try Omni .... mainer208 Posted March 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Sounds like a nice spot. Did you have to make reservations with the Omni ahead of time?

TNtraveler Posted May 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 1, 2007 Disappointing -- the Omni Puerto Aventuras was free day-use back in Fall 2004. Was hoping to return this year.
cruisinnewbienurse Posted May 1, 2007 #6 Share Posted May 1, 2007 Thanks for the report! My husband and I have booked our own excursions for this cruise, and they include a dolphin swim at Puerto Aventuras. So glad to hear that we will be able to find more to do around there! br76jook Posted May 21, 2007 #9 Share Posted May 21, 2007 Just visited the Omni last week. It was 500 pesos for two day passes so it ended up being just under $50. It seemed like a really good place for families. The pools were nice and they had some sand bags in the ocean to act as a wave break. With our $40 credit we ended up getting 4 margaritas, 1 virgin daiquiri and two bottles of water. They had plenty of good looking food choices but we had already eaten. The hotel was not crowded at all. Most the other people appeared to be non-Americans, either Mexican or Canadian. I definately recommend this place. expoguide Posted May 22, 2007 #11 Share Posted May 22, 2007 Question: Did you lug around carseats for your toddlers, or just hold on to them in the cab.. leaving in a few days and we are still debating on taking the carseat for our 14 month old . . . Finally we got a cab and told the driver to go to the omni Hotel in Puerto Aventuras for $10. It took about 20 mins to get to the hotel. We have 2 toddlers, so we want to find a quiet and easy place.
