Overnites in the ports Kauai and Maui

We will be on the POA and I was wondering about the overnites in Kauai and Maui. Are you able to come and go as you please from the ship? Do you need to be back to the ship at a specific time in the evening? How does that work coming and going from the ship?

Right-- the ship is docked overnight at both of those ports. Yes, you can come and go as you wish. There is no "curfew" or anything. You just need to be back on board by sailing time on the 2nd day!

Just did the POA and all the notice board at the pier said about being on the ship was the FINAL sailing time and requirement for being onboard. People were getting OFF the ship the nights we were getting on. Cant help with the request on club info, but ask the crew once onboard. They were some of the people leaving after their shift was over.

Hi you can come and go any time on both days, it is docked the whole time overnight. People coming and going at 2 or 3am etc... Drunks getting on, and early risers going to haleakela for dawn viewing and bike rides.

This is true of all the american flagged ships.

Does anyone know of any good clubs that are within walking distance from the dock?

None that I know of. The piers aren't really near the "night life" (such as it is). In Kauai, the Marriott close by might have some evening entertainment. But clubs, no. For that I think your best bet might be to stay on the ship and go to the clubs onboard.

We were aboard the POA in Jan. In the two overnight stays we had to be back on the ship by 9:30 in the evening. It might have changed since then. But I was ready to get back on the ship after a full day of sightseeing hahahahahaha

Looks like lots of contradicting information. Seems like you can't get back from a luau before 9:30 so that doesn't seem right. Maybe best to call the cruise line and ask the specialist. Of course, there you might get conflicting info too as I've heard. Oh well.

When you leave the board does say you have to back onboard by 9pm, but it said SATURDAY when we docked on Friday. Maybe people just looked at the time and didnt notice the day? People leave at 230a or 3a to get to Haleakala and people were leaving to go out at 9pm as we were getting back on the first day. There is no way they could make everyone get onboard each night. Thats part of the reason to stay in port for more than 1 day.

That is really odd. We didn't have to be back onboard the PoH until 30 minutes before departure the second day. I can't imagine why they would have told you to be back onboard by 9:30, and I've actually not heard of that from anyone else on any of the three Pride ships. Is it possible that tadjr is correct, and the daily listed the "all aboard" but for the second day? Otherwise, there is absolutely no reason for there to be a curfew, if you will, for the three US-flagged ships, unless it's one of the very rare itineraries that does one day at Kahului and one day at Lahaina. And even then, pax could stay on land overnight and meet the ship the next day across the island.

You know I bet it did say the next day and we didn't notice that !!!! I stand corrected.
