Shuttle or Rental?

My family of 5 will be cruising on 8/27 on the Majesty. Due to cost we will be flying into FLL. My questions are as follows::confused:

 

Are there ANY Miami Hotels that will pick us up at the FLL airport if we decided to come in a day early?

 

Which is cheaper, a rental from FLL to Port of Miami or a Shuttle from FLL to port.

On our last cruise, (Navigator January 2007) we Flew Jet Blue out of Logan to Ft. Lauderdale. We had booked transfers with Ace Tours of Ft. Lauderdale. We were a party of 5 ( 4 adults, 1 toddler). They picked us up in a nice 10 passenger van, no other passengers, and dropped us off right at the pier. We did the same for the return to the FLL airport. it was $100 for all 5 of us each way. The van was clean, cool, and the drivers were very professional, courteous and on time!

 

You may be able to find a deal for a rental, but we didn't want to deal with the trouble of renting a car, parking at the Miami port, and trying to squeeze 5 people's luggage into an economy rental car just to transfer.

 

Unfortunately, I don't know of any hotels that will shuttle you to FLL.

We stayed at the Sleep Inn and Suites in Dania (FLL) they have a free shuttle from the airport. They have room that sleep 5 or 6. We then used Larry's Limo (Around $125) each way to and from the port. We are a family of two adults and 4 teens. Just an idea for you ;)
