I have been looking for some positive reviews on tours to the DR and have been very disappointed. So far I have only seen good things about the tours to the caves. Anyone? Some good beach or Catmaran tours?:confused:

We stayed near La Romana for a week last summer. During our stay we did a catamaran/powerboat excursion to Saona Island. Also, an island tour that went to Higuay, a cattle ranch, parts of the rainforest, and then boogie boarding at a beach near Punta Cana. We also went on a deep sea fishing excursion and then chartered the same boat for later that evening for a sightseeing/sunset cruise. We also did a tour of La Romana that consisted of going to the caves, a little shopping, a tour of a cigar factory, and a side trip to Altos de Chavon. Oh yeah, on one of these excursions we also did a big raft ride up the Chavon that had a lunch buffet on it. I will try to find out the name of the companies we used - we booked them thru the resort we stayed at. All the tours were wonderful and the people were very friendly. Language can be difficult at times - mostly spanish spoken there. But if you make an attempt at speaking some spanish the folks here appreciate it and try their best to understand. I don't know what time of year you are planning on going -but if you are there in May the orchids along the Chavon are supposed to be breathtaking.

I will try to get you some pictures and more info if you like - however we leave tomorrow for Puerto Rico and our eastern Caribbean cruise, so it will be a while til I can post again.:)
