jhall131 Posted March 25, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2007 Is there a way to find out if a ship is tendered or docked? We will be leaving April 8th for the western carribean and would like to find out if we will dock or tender in ports. Anybody know where I can find this information? msboo18 Posted March 26, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2007 We went to those same ports in Feb - only tendered in Cayman - tendered in on our life boats - then waited to disembark at the small dock with 8 other tenders from other boats. Water was pretty choppy - great thrill ride! Docked in all other ports.
rlj1010 Posted March 27, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2007 While we're at it, how about these ports? 1) Key West 2) Roatan, Honduras (My itinerary also includes Grand Cayman, and Cozumel, which already have been answered... I personally hate tendering, especial on Costa... The last time I sailed Costa and had to tender, they made everyone get in the main lounge very early and wait around til your number was called.... It was a big hassle, compared to other cruise lines I've sailed on...)
fatcat04 Posted March 27, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 27, 2007 Key West and Roatan both docked. Key West at the old Naval base and they shuttle you with the little trams. Roatan, just walked off the boat.:)
fatcat04 Posted March 27, 2007 #7 Share Posted March 27, 2007 Oh and tendering to Grand Cayman this time was easy. Just got there abt 30 mins AFTER all the organized tours had left. Won't work if you are in one of those tours. Then you are out of luck but to be honest the RCL lines at the pier to get back on the boat was insane!! MUCH MUCH longer to get on the tender. Getting on and off Costa Med was a breeze!! :D
