barante Posted March 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2007 We were on the Noordam when we came to Bridgetown. On a previous visit we had done the Boatyard, which was nice. I went to the tourism desk in the terminal and asked for their recommendation. Go to Brighton Beach, the lady said. Brighton Beach was a free beach just a $3 per pax cab ride away. You can actually see the ships in the distance. The beach was almost totally deserted. It was quite shallow and had a coral bottom, which was fine because we always wear swim shoes. A restaurant at the beach rents lounge chairs ($5). We had a nice time at Brighton Beach. I got terribly sunburnt . . .

What some beachfront properties charge for are use of their facilities/amenities etc. Having said that..yes Brighton beach is a nice beach and you could have actually walked there from the ship(about 10 minutes). I am glad you enjoyed your visit.
