Suggestions for a few hours on our own

My husband and I already have signed up for a snorkeling excursion in the morning (until noon). Are there any suggestions for some to dos in the afternoon? Our ship departs at 5, so we don't have to be back on the ship until 4:30. Seems such a waste with nothing to do for the few hours after we cleanup and before the ship departs.

 

My husband like the outdoors, not into shopping at all, very much into flats fishing.

I'd visit the Belize zoo which is just west of Belize City. It's a neat little zoo that has all of the local wildlife and has received financial backing from Harrison Ford. You can probably find someone to take you there in the afternoon. It's not too far away and would be a fun way to kill an hour or three.
