Comfort Inn Airport/Cruise Port South?????????

Has anyone stayed at the Comfort Inn Airport/Cruise Port South hotel, located at 2520 Stirling Road in Hollywood Florida?

They have free shuttle service to Port Everglades so that is why it appealed to us (also a decent price)....

Just wanted to know if anyone stayed there, what they thought of it?

Thanks!

You might ask this question over at the North American homeport forum and then scroll to East Coast Departures. There is all sorts of info there especially about Florida. Just go back to the Table of Contents and scroll down.

Can't tell you about the hotel, but living not far from there you are in a pretty good location. You are within short cab rides to the Hard Rock Casino, the infamous Anna Nicole Smith hotel. They have gambling and lots of restauarants and bars and etc. Also near by is Las Olas Blvd. which has great restaurants, bars with music and boutiques. Also Hollywood blvd. which a smaller version of Las Olas. Have a great time and cruise.

I was there in 2005. Looks great from the outside, that's the part that was renovated. Terrible inside. Look for another hotel.

Thank you for your replies....

I have been reading mixed reviews on this hotel. Some say it was a dive, and some who have stayed there recently have liked it...

I am trying to find something really affordable, since it's just one night.

Thanks!!!

We've stayed there twice and are booked there again in November. It isn't in very good shape, but it was OK for one night. They have a great free breakfast with an omelet lady making omelets as you like. I wouldn't want to spend a week there, but for an overnight it's fine...clean too. The shuttle service both to the pier and airport is what sold us.

I think I may pass on this hotel and book with the Holiday Inn express near the port.

Thanks for all of the reviews!!

I stayed at the Holiday Inn EXpress and highly, highly recommend it. Staff was wonderful, clean rooms, they pick you up at the airport although you need to take a taxi to the ship. It is very close, less than $10.00.

Ditto. If you want a resort for one night before a cruise, go elsewhere. But for a decent room and breakfast and a good shuttle from airport and to cruise, all at a reasonable price, why not?

We stayed here in January ... it was HORRIBLE. I was greeted with"I'm sorry" when asked how long we were staying. Joe the night auditor there was right. I was sooooooooory!!!! Nobody fixed anything that needed fixing and the night before the cruise we were drying our clothes we had washed on the lights because the dryer didn't work. We were awake at 5 am by a fire alarm and no hotel people around to say it was a false alarm.

NEVER, NEVER again will we stay there.

Complaint filed and was offered $50.00 off our next stay at a comfort inn.

Fat chance I'd stay at one anytime soon.

We stayed at the Comfort in Cruise Port and Airport in Fort Lauderdale in March. Don't know if this is the one you are refering to. We thought it was great. No luxury, but the shuttle was great. They picked us up at 10.00 at night at the airport and took us to the cruise port at 11.30 the next morning. There was a free breakfast that looked pretty dull, so we wen't to Denny's across the road. There was a wine store just steps away, and my son was able to get a haircut in the same mall.

The room was clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay there again. As one poster said - I wouold not go for a week- it has a pool, but is not on a beach or near fun shopping or great restaurants, but for a quick overnight it was perfect!

Not worth the free breakfast! It was horrible, we went elsewhere too. The room with the breakfast is a small room without windows, must have been a storage closet at one point. We got a 50% refund w/o question when we told them we couldn't take a shower - no cold water! All running water was at the boiling point. Also, TV didn't work and the carpet was dirty. We got in at 1 am, otherwise I would have hit the road! Did I say enough?

Thanks for all the reviews! I guess it's a good idea to do some research ahead of time :)

We had decided to book our own air and hotel this time (flights really sucked last time with Princess Air......)

So we had to find a hotel for one night.

I ended up booking the Holiday Inn Express by the port. Short cab ride away!

Thanks again!!! Can't wait to sail the new Emerald!

I stayed there twice, first time ok, but thanks to Hurricane Jean was there for 3 nights. Second time, big difference from the first, unfriendly staff, dumpy accomodations, locks on the door didn't work. Not the best part of town either. Find a different place.

Stayed at Amerisuites last year, quite nice.....

you have to remember nothing is EVER PERFECT

and while some people have real complaints, because as I said before nothing is perfect..... A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL NEVER BE HAPPY no matter what and do nothing but complain even when everthing is fine they will fine something to complain about..
