ss2007 Posted April 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2007 We are traveling on the Liberty in June and we are getting really worried about the crowds. I have read other threads with complaints about crowds on Freedom...
want2gosailing2 Posted April 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2007 We were on the Freedom last October and we did'nt really experience any bad crowds. Yes if you did'nt get a chair next to the pool early you had to sit back further On Sea Days Only). The casino was alway full but spots opened fairky quick, the buffet was normal no different than any other ship I would guess. We said a number of times during the cruise "where is everyone". The ship is huge and I don't see a crowding issue really. Since the ships port all at different times getting on and off was'nt a major deal tendering did take longer but tendering always has. We are going On Liberty 10/13/ 07 and can't wait!!!!!
SailingDeanna Posted April 13, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2007 On the Freedom, the only time we really noticed a crowd was on the first formal night. Everyone was on deck five to take pictures, eat dinner, and watch the show. Lots of people in one area! It was the night we got free champagne. Other than that night, we didn't have trouble with crowds at all.
easyrider1100 Posted April 15, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2007 I sailed Freedom in August. I traveled with a group of 15 and everyone was amazed that we never felt crowded. There are people around, but I felt less crowded on Freedom than on the other Royal cruises I took.
caviargal Posted April 24, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 24, 2007 My experience on FOS was that it did feel crowded and quite often. IMO, the tables in the dining room were far too close together, the elevators had a long wait and there were lines for coffee, etc. It was not for me but many love it. negc Posted April 24, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 24, 2007 My experience on FOS was that it did feel crowded and quite often. IMO, the tables in the dining room were far too close together, the elevators had a long wait and there were lines for coffee, etc. It was not for me but many love it. Except for the parades I didn't experience any undue crowding and thought that the spacing of tables, especially on the second and third levels of the dining room was much better than we have experienced on other ships. Our waiter even commented on the fact that he didn't have to squeeze between tables to wait on his guests. I guess most people will have to experience Freedom and Liberty on their own and come to their own conclusions. I happen to prefer the Radiance class ships for a number of reasons but we have sailed twice on Freedom and are looking forward to our upcoming pre-inaugural on Liberty next month.:)
