MRIrene Posted August 8, 2004 #26 Share Posted August 8, 2004 We have a family group of 13 cruising on Ecstasy in December. I would still sail on her without the renovations. It is a bargain. The renovations make it much sweeter though! :) We sailed on Majesty of the Seas (another "old" ship) in May and loved it. Irene
gsully00 Posted August 11, 2004 Author #27 Share Posted August 11, 2004 I'm sorry to all that I may offended about my review of the Ecstasy, since we took our cruise in July, most kids are still out of school and it was a 3 night cruise which tends to cater to a party type of crowd, "we only have 3 days, we might as well party" type of mentality. As for the ship--12 years is not too old for a ship--but just too retro for my taste, not to say that other people might enjoy that look. Since our last post--we did book our next cruise for next month(Sept) on the Conquest out of Galveston, enjoy CCL! :)
hilltopfamily Posted August 11, 2004 #28 Share Posted August 11, 2004 I'm not positive, but I think the Conquest sails out of New Orleans?!? Elation sails from Galveston, along with Celebration for a little more time.
gsully00 Posted August 12, 2004 Author #29 Share Posted August 12, 2004 you are correct--we were looking at both departures and got the 2 mixed up, departing New Orleans on the Conquest--thanks! :)
