:) I had read in a prior thread somewhere that one night on ther cruise is dinner with captain and there is an open bar... is this correct? or was it another night or is there no such thing as "open bar"

You could possibly be thinking something that would be by private invitation as a suite guest. Otherwise, I don't know of any such thing.

No open bar, no dinner with the Captain unless you're invited to a special event.
