Kindlychap Posted April 4, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2007 Does anyone have any expereince of the WiFi on QE2. Is it worth us taking our laptop and what are the charges like? Charges are exactly the same as for using the email on the ship's computers. I can't recall exactly, but it isn't cheap. The great advantage of wi-fi is that one can compose emails peacefully and at leisure, whip down to (a) the computer centre (b) the boardroom © the Yacht Club or (d) the Lido and then in a minute or so do a quick send and receive, and then back to the bar/cabin to read them at leisure. Certainly worth taking it with you. Especially if you have been given a pass out to sail without your wife, and wish to stay in contact mid Adlantic! Kindlychap Posted April 4, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2007 See this explanation I have just found by searching, which includes fees. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=279376&highlight=wi-fi Basically $0.50 per minute, cheaper if you buy packages...... Force10 Posted April 4, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted April 4, 2007 Many thanks Matthew, this is really helpful. Think we will be upgrading our laptop before we go for a lighter version!
