catnt2 Posted April 10, 2007 #26 Share Posted April 10, 2007 Where did you get the messenger bag? I've been looking for something just like that. I found it on ebay through a store. Maybe $25 incl S&H. Search for leather messenger bag. Seller name kekos700
kathyemma Posted April 10, 2007 #27 Share Posted April 10, 2007 My seapass card, lighter and 2 cigarettes fit in just fine. The seapass card on the higher part where the cup turns into straps and the lighter and smokes between my boobs. (It comes from many, many years of hiding the fact that i smoke!) Of course, I only do that at night when going to the dining room. During the day i have a beach bag.
KillaFee Posted April 10, 2007 #28 Share Posted April 10, 2007 I usually have my DF hold onto my lipgloss in his pocket and I have my seapass in my pocket. Or I just bring a tiny little wristlet for night time that my camera, seapass and gloss fit in. When I busted it out at dinner on the Serenade, one of my tablemates almost died of laughter - it's a really tiny itty bitty purse! Laura
Compass Rose Posted April 10, 2007 #29 Share Posted April 10, 2007 KarinaGW.....I have an idea. Go to http://www.forum.purseblog.com. There are a whole bunch of knowledgeable people out there who will help you find exactly what you are looking for. Pictures and all. It's great. kingsgirl Posted April 10, 2007 #30 Share Posted April 10, 2007 Ladies, How do you carry your important "stuff" with you onboard? Do you take your regular everyday purse or do you purchase a smaller one just for the cruise? And - what do you do w/ your SeaPass card (I'm guessing this is all I really need when on the ship for alcoholic drinks & such..)? THANKS. I have a small bag that has a long strap on it to go across my body or just on my shoulder. It's just large enough for me to put my camera and wallet in there. It's actually very tiny. I just take it with me anywhere and b/c I can throw it across my body, I don't have to worry about hold onto it while in line for something. This is the best picture I could find from my cruise to show you.
whitsmom Posted April 10, 2007 #31 Share Posted April 10, 2007 That's what husbands' pockets are for :p . Especially when they wear cargo pants! You think like I do! I do have a waist pack that I use when we are at port.

emilygrace Posted April 10, 2007 #33 Share Posted April 10, 2007 I have a little bag with an across the body strap that I found at Eddie Bauer in the clearance bin. It zips around 3 sides and when unzipped, it opens quite wide. It has several pockets inside for various cards and even a zippered section. It's about 3x6 inches and weighs nothing. It holds my camera, seapass card (can't put it in my pocket or it demagnetizes), lip stuff, pen, coupons from the C&A book and mints. There's even a pocket on the outside for a cell phone, but I don't use mine when on vacation. I try to downsize the purses when on vacation just so I WON'T have to put DH's stuff in it....sunglasses, asthma inhaler, etc. I'm not getting stuck lugging around a heavy purse! lephysteria Posted April 10, 2007 #34 Share Posted April 10, 2007 I have a little pouch that I clip to my brastrap, and that holds bills, seapass and my visa card. If I have to carry stuff into port, I have a waist bag (butt bag) that comes in handy! :)
SheriNtexas Posted April 11, 2007 #35 Share Posted April 11, 2007 We always wear a lanyard with a plastic pouch thing on the end to put our sea pass card in. Never have to go digging for it, no need to even take it out of the pouch, you'd be suprised how often you reach for that thing during the day. I don't carry a purse, I put all my important stuff in my camera case, which I tend to have with me all the time. :) I always had my lanyard on, except at dinnertime, of course, and I never saw anyone else wearing one! Of course, I didn't see every person on the ship, but i wondered the same thing: where do they keep their card? I also have a small backpack that slings over my shoulder and i had that some time, but i always had my purse in the cabin.
bikn4fn Posted April 11, 2007 #36 Share Posted April 11, 2007 The DW uses a fanny pack. On formal nights she has a small "formal" purse. I found a nice little option. It's a purse hanger. It is a little "hook" that sits on the edge of the table so you don't have to lay the purse on the floor or in your lap.
careywv Posted April 11, 2007 #37 Share Posted April 11, 2007 I've never cruised before - so this cruise will be my first. However, I love purses. Any excuse, I'm buyin a new one. ;) I just bought the Vera Bradley Straw Tote for my beach bag. For my birthday all my friends and family bought me Vera Bradley for our trip. I have the discontinued Black Lux wristlet for dinner. I have the "Amy" bag to put inside my beach bag for smaller things (i.e. camera, etc.) Appropriately named, since I'm Amy too. hehe :) My DH got me the hipster so I can throw it across my body while we are in port. Vera Bradley has a nice collection with wonderful colors. The price isn't that bad, and you can use it for everyday. They also have a messenger bag too. I took a picture of the all the purses, so you can see. It's a nice collection, and beautiful bright colors. Enjoy! :D
PhoenixCruiser Posted April 11, 2007 #38 Share Posted April 11, 2007 At the pool or on excursions I use a beach tote with an inside zipper compartment for my (small) wallet. I use the tote to haul lotions, towels, books, etc. too. In the evenings I use a wristlet or small evening bag. Same here! I would be lost without a small purse/evening bag during the evening. ###
AudioFilly Posted April 11, 2007 #39 Share Posted April 11, 2007 I bring small purses--don't really need a wallet, but I need my comb, lipstick, tissues, money for the casino, etc.... I HATE the look of lanyards--I mean, when you're at a hotel, do you wear your room key around your neck???? Horrid look!If I want to comb my hair, I'm not walking all the way back to my cabin--a small purse is very convenient and is not a hassle! Actually, we do! :p At every All-inclusive we've been to in Mexico they have given us our room key on a lariat. As for it being a horrid look, by the time they have tagged you with a colored 'hospital' bracelet I don't think anyone even notices the key around our necks. :D On a cruise, I'm with the group that splits everything between the camera bag's front pocket, seapass on a lanyard and anything else I need goes into DH's cargo shorts pockets. Going into port I carry a Healthy Back Bag made of microfiber. It distributes the weight so nothing I carry feels as heavy. If it is really crowded or seems less safe than some areas, I move it across my front like an infant pouch.

aqhacruiser Posted April 11, 2007 #41 Share Posted April 11, 2007 I have a leather waist bag that looks just a little smaller than the messenger bag that was posted. It holds everything I need and has several pockets. I like having my hands free to shop! LOL! :D I have a small beaded purse for formal nights and thats the only time you'll see that thing! LOL!:p
Nancyquilts Posted April 11, 2007 #42 Share Posted April 11, 2007 On the ship all I use is the seapass card, so I stick it in a pocket and don't carry anything else (as the cabin is close enough for lipstick, comb, etc.) Nancy
