life vests for kids

What do you recommend if we are going to bring our own gear (mask, fins and snorkel) and going to a beach where we may not be able to get flotation devices for the kids for while they snorkel? Is there anything on the market that doesn't take up a great deal of room that we could take along?

i have something like that. i freak out when i can't touch the bottom or grab on to something, but i feel fine with the vest. the only problem is that the crotch strap can be kind of uncomfortable. but it's totally worth it to me.
