Snorkeling Chankanaab or La Ceiba Hotel

BEACHBUMMIN' GATOR

Recommended Posts

Our family will be cruising through Coz for a day in May. We are trying to choose between the two locations. Our kids are 6 and 3 and both good swimmers. We will be bringing a resting raft for them incase they get tired. Wondering if anyone has been snokeling out in front of La Ceiba lately. How is the reef/fish? Is there a strong current at all? What is the cost to hang out at the hotel and beach for the day?

We are debating taking a taxi down to Chankanaab Park rather than the hotel. Any idea on cost of taxi for family of 4 from the pier? Are their restaurants and shops outside the park? I know there is one in the park, we are just looking for options.

The real deciding factor is the snorkeling conditions. We want to see lots of fish and as much coral reef as we can. :)
