BettyBoop3850 Posted August 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2004 Hi I will be on the Sept.29th New England/Canada cruise and was wondering if the indoor pool is enclosed enough since the weather outside will be cool and not condusive to swimming in the outdoor pools. Thanks Michelle
CruiseShelly Posted August 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2004 Indoor Pool has a sliding glass roof that they open if conditions permit, otherwise they keep it closed so there's at least one pool area people can comfortably use.
juneann Posted August 6, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2004 Yes, it is completely protected from the weather.
cruise pup Posted August 10, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2004 This is a very small area. There are only about 60 lounges for 2,600 passengers when the weather is bad. I guess Cunard knows its passengers and feels that not many bother with indoor pools, even during their winter crossings, but I would have thought the space would have been made larger, like the ones Grand class ships offer on Princess. The 2 whirlpools there are very small. My impression was that the space was put in as a token gesture. Interestingly, a friend of mine who sailed on one of the summer Caribbean sailings out of New York used it as a place to get out of the heat since it is climate controlled.
