Please post your thoughts and experiences. Thanks! Ilhéus is a small port in southern Bahia. It was the center of the cacao plantations principal export port. Two excursions are available: a day in a beatifull beach, with beach chairs, sun umbrellas and good beer and local food. The other goes to Itacaré: a resort in the middle of a natural preservation area. We always go to the beach (3 times in the last 2 years) by taxi hired on the pier.
