misty57 Posted April 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2007 We are trying to coordinate our two college age son's schedules for a family cruise. We are actually looking at booking Jan 09 for Liberty. Are there disadvantages to booking so early? Any advantages? Also, does anyone know if any newer ships will be available by that time? Sue L Posted April 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2007 Usually the prices are lower early on, and if they go up you are locked in and if they go down RCCL will credit you the money. The best cabin selection is also early. You can cancel up to final payment time which is usually around 70 days with no penalties.
tw67 Posted April 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2007 I just booked Aug 08 the other day, the first day it was released. We knew when we wanted to go, and booked it while we had the choice of cabins. Terry

FlyingPhotog Posted April 14, 2007 #10 Share Posted April 14, 2007 I booked 443 days in advance of my Alaska cruise on the Serenade. No harm in booking extra early, other than driving yourself crazy waiting for the big day.
CL-JW Posted April 14, 2007 #11 Share Posted April 14, 2007 We've booked up to 18 months in advance. Find that prices usually go up, but if they go down, we get that savings too.
Kaycee1 Posted April 14, 2007 #12 Share Posted April 14, 2007 We booked the Freeom Mar. 08 a month ago. This was so we could get our choice of cabins:)
whitsmom Posted April 14, 2007 #13 Share Posted April 14, 2007 We booked about 10 months out for our January 2008 EOS. Now if the time will just fly by! We are looking now to book an Alaska trip 2008 or 2009. Getting good rates and the cabins of your choice is an advantage of early booking. Then you can have the time to plan and do research on CC. Planning is part of the fun for me. Good Luck.

We are looking to do the same. You usually get a better price and better cabin choice.
