pier?

While government officials have stated intention to construct a facility to allow cruise ships to dock, no actual construction has begun. As far as I know financing has no been arranged.

When might it actually happen? No time soon.

Grand Cayman is a tender port. The ship anchors a short distance offshore, and you ride a boat (called a tender) to shore.

There have long been two piers for the ship tenders to dock. A lot of confusion resulted when a new third pier for tenders was opened. At least one article in a major publication erroneously stated that the new pier was able to berth cruise ships. It is not.
