pjtulsa Posted April 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2007 We are booked on the Magic sailing June 6th from Barcelona and looking for anyone else that might be on board. Also any suggestions on ports and excursions on our own vs DCC tours. This is our 9th cruise but 1st on Disney, looking forward to it!!!
kevnbren Posted April 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2007 We are also booked on this cruise! We have two kids, 11 and 14. I am trying to book some excursions on our own, it seems you can catch a train at most ports and get to where you want to go. We are from Texas, this will be our second Disney cruise. JohnnyMac1962 Posted May 6, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2007 We are on the DCL med cruise on 6/6/07. Also 2 kids 14 and 12. 4th DCL cruise and 1st trip to europe. Trying to balance expensive DCL shore excursions with some on our own. I have been doing a lot of internet research and read some tour books. Those of us on this cruise with kids should exchange ideas. 4 weeks 3 days (I don't know how to do those fancy counters):D

summervlm Posted May 10, 2007 #6 Share Posted May 10, 2007 My husband, myself, and 22 year old daughter are cruising. We are planning out our days in advance. Wanted to take a private escorted tour with driver in Naples to see Pompeii, Sorrento,Amalfi, and Ravello. It is cheaper when you have more people in the group. The tour looks awesome on Itallylimousine.it.......Let us know if you would like to join us.:)
summervlm Posted May 10, 2007 #7 Share Posted May 10, 2007 We are sailing on this cruise. We just booked it a few weeks ago. What are your plans in Naples?
JohnnyMac1962 Posted May 11, 2007 #8 Share Posted May 11, 2007 Summvlm - Our plans in Naples (although not yet booked) are the train from Naples to Pompeii to Sorento and then a hydrofoil to Capri and back to Naples if time permits. I have seen postings of others taking guided tours (some were good and some were not so good). I would strongly suggest a posting asking for others experience with italy limousine. I looked at the web site and didn't see the exact excursion you described (did you book something special?). Did you get any rates? John
summervlm Posted May 11, 2007 #9 Share Posted May 11, 2007 Actually, I have contacted three or four companies that I have read very good reviews from previous travelers to the area. The one I am presently talking to is Aldotaxi. Aldo is supposed to be awesome, and his wife is his secretary. She answers any questions quickly. She said Aldo could do a trip for the three of us (but we could get three others) for the same cost of $400.00 Euros. I wanted to visit Pompeii, Sorrento, Amalfi and if time Ravella. Aldo likes to do Pompei on the return so that he is situated closer to the ship dock for the obvious reason. His wife says he knows all of the great Tratorrias and could suggest one in Amalfi area or you pick one yourself for lunch. They like to get started first thing in the morning. I thought about doing Pompeii, Capri and Sorrento on our own.....sounds very easy to put together, but my heart keeps pulling me to Amalfi. I have also good input on DriveAmalfi, SeeSorrento, and Italylinousine.it They do the interary you choose. Do you have any input on any of these ideas? Let us know. Thanks
