Beijing Post Cruise

Would you book transfer from the ship and hotel room through Princess or on your own? The Princess packages seem pricey but not knowing anything about Beijing I am a bit reluctant to do it myself. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Check out your roll call thread and the Asia ports of call board. There are plenty of alternatives to the expensive Princess transfer and hotel. BTW, Beijing is rather easy to get around on your own.

Back in 3-01, on Regal Princess, we booked Princess' post-cruise extension/transfers, and were glad we did. Not speaking the language, we would have been completely lost, and we were there at perhaps not the best time.

 

We arrived in Beijing just after the Red Chinese Air Force had forced down a US Navy "spy plane", and the reception towards Americans was decidedly chilly.

 

Frankly, I was not nearly as impressed with Beijing as Shanghai, which I found to be fascinating.
