Shore Fishing in Cozumel

My family is going to Cozumel in June on Carnival, and my husband wants to take his fishing pole and light tackle and fish from the shoreline. Does anyone have any suggestions on where he can do that, while the kids and I can hang out on a beach nearby?

Fishing from shore is allowed but you must be careful that you are not inside the protected marine park area. That begins at the southernmost cruise terminal and wraps the south end of the island.

If he wants to fish close to a beach where you are lounging, I suggest you go to Playa Azul beach club and he can fish different areas in that vicinity. He cannot fish from most hotel piers and not in the buoyed swimming areas of beaches and hotels.

Tell him early morning or late afternoons are best and use shiny spoons, about the size you would use for bass fishing at home.
