CruisinMama27 Posted April 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2007 How much on average do you tip the person that brings the room service to you? Thanks
Rirruto Posted April 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2007 I gave 2 bucks the one time I ordered room service. I think I got the BLT and cookies and brownies.
CruiseCentric Posted April 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2007 $2-$4 depending on the size of the order.

Sealicker Posted April 23, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2007 I tip $1-$2 remembering that my cabin steward get $3.50 for taking care of my room per day, I would hate to tip the delivery person more...
deborahjo Posted April 23, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2007 $1 to $2 per delivery. Depends if it is just a sandwich or a whole meal.
Cotton Posted April 23, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 23, 2007 Solo cruiser here...I tip $1 for just coffee and croissants, but $2 if I order a whole tray of items. I've often said what Sealicker did. Seems not quite fair to the cabin steward (who gets only $3.50 for an entire day's service of cleaning the cabin twice a day). So I'd never tip a simple room service delivery over $2, even if there were more people in the cabin.
oorbear Posted April 23, 2007 #8 Share Posted April 23, 2007 I always get a supply of $2 bills before each cruise and use them as room service and other misc. tips.
Kurbanfan Posted April 23, 2007 #9 Share Posted April 23, 2007 2 dollars. Nothing more and nothing less.......
Rare finoky Posted April 23, 2007 #10 Share Posted April 23, 2007 Usually a dollar but sometimes two if the order is large.
BrendaB1 Posted April 23, 2007 #11 Share Posted April 23, 2007 I tipped $2 & also received a $2 charge on my S&S account for Room Service. Guess mine stuck the money in his pocket & said I didn't tip.
okbookgirl Posted April 23, 2007 #12 Share Posted April 23, 2007 Is the tip not included in the ticket, like at hotels? (they sometimes call it a service charge but that is the tip that is built in) I thought that the tips were included in the ten dollar a day charge except for whatever extra you wanted to give your room steward and your table waiter? ItaliaAmerCruzLady Posted April 23, 2007 #14 Share Posted April 23, 2007 OKBOOKGIRl, not to my knowledge is the room service included, and neither are the drink servers, need to have a bunch of ones to take care of these hard workers that serve us so nicely. frito58 Posted April 24, 2007 #20 Share Posted April 24, 2007 I tipped $2 & also received a $2 charge on my S&S account for Room Service. Guess mine stuck the money in his pocket & said I didn't tip. They charged a tip on your sail and sign, never heard of that happeing. We always tip a couple of bucks, I usually take a couple of rolls of the gold $1 coins.
Mad4Mickey Posted April 24, 2007 #21 Share Posted April 24, 2007 That's why many of us leave a cash tip in our room for our steward. Glad to see we were not the only ones. Seemed kinda silly to only give them 3.50 per day . We gave ours a extra 50 on the 3rd day then when we left the ship we gave him another 20 because my husband had won in the casino and we had extra cash : ) I tip 2 bucks when they guy brought the snacks to the room . Only when it came up fast did I give him 3 . Also does everyone else tip both the servers from your dinner time and the drink person ? we did but no one else at the table did this on the last night and one lady even said she had been cruising for 15 years and never did that . I did find it strange that she tipped the " Maid Tre D" as she called him 20 bucks but thought I was strange to tip the drink guy . I thought you tipped him in addtion to the others not instead of . OMG if you are reading this I am not making fun of you for the way you talked I found it cute I swear I did . : )

PINEVIEW01 Posted April 24, 2007 #24 Share Posted April 24, 2007 OKBOOKGIRl, not to my knowledge is the room service included, and neither are the drink servers, need to have a bunch of ones to take care of these hard workers that serve us so nicely. The drink servers, if you are talking alcohol, get a 15% tip. So, they don't need any more. The room service isn't included as, there is no cost for room service. ala-kat Posted April 24, 2007 #25 Share Posted April 24, 2007 I tipped $2 & also received a $2 charge on my S&S account for Room Service. Guess mine stuck the money in his pocket & said I didn't tip. Can they do that as room service is included? Tipping, although not required, is only heavily suggested. and before anyone says anything, I do tip for room service. $1 - $3 depending on what all I have ordered. and how much I've been drinking. I tend to get generous when drinking.
