Rome day trip feedback

Recommended Posts

Ostia Antica would be the easiest to reach destination of the three. On the Via Appia it is nice to stop at various places, walk around and continue. The Villa d'Este is further outside.

Nevertheless all three area would be great places to go to. My recommendation would depend on what you mean by "a free day". If you spend eg. ten days of busy sightseeing in Rome and want a leisurely break, the Villa d'Este with gardens away from the heat of Rome would be very nice. If you have only eg. two days in Rome I would stay closer and explore one of the other areas.
