jeeppartsman Posted April 29, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2007 has anyone used microsoft street and trips to track a cruise?
Christen99 Posted May 25, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2007 We haven't used it to track a cruise, but my DH wants to use it for our upcoming cruise. Because he is what I call a "professional geek" (he's an IT professional), we rarely travel without the laptop. We are also taking the GPS so that we can take it with us while in port. This is the same man that had me help him string cat-5 in our new house when I was due to give birth just a short week later because he was afraid that after the baby came we'd never get it done. Yes our house has a wired network as well as wireless because "you just never know", and a ratio of computers to people that is 2:
jeeppartsman Posted May 26, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted May 26, 2007 can you let me know if it works at sea?
Cruisetini Posted July 10, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2007 I have a pda phone and always download the online street maps to my cell phone for walking tours on our own. Always available when needed and no cell signal is necessary!
kimgvlsc Posted October 8, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2007 We used it in Alaska last year and it worked really well! We have friends cruising in a few weeks and they are going to use it on their cruise to the Bahamas.
SirBeavis Posted October 13, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 13, 2007 I used Autoroute (European Version of Streets and Trips) last year in the Med. It worked OK, but you needed to be on the balcony for the GPS to pick up a signal. It is amazing how the many times a ship will go in circles during the night near a port! Also the icon was a car, kind of amusing when in the middle of water.
