Tian Posted April 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2007 For 2 cabins, the total price I get from a TA is $3200 while booking directly from PVP is $3600. However, the TA charges $50 each person ($250 total) for cancellation before the final payment date. The final payment for Carnival is 77 days before cruise date. Although I don’t foresee any reason I would cancel the cruise, this is my first cruise so I want to find out why people canceled their cruises. My children are young and we are middle aged so the chance for some to be sick is highly unlikely. What is your experience booking with an agent charging cancellation fee? What are the odds of canceling a cruise before or after the final payment date? Thank you!
leeotampa Posted April 30, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2007 I never use a TA. Tell the PVP what you were getting the cabin for, and most of the time, even on your first cruise, they will at least match it.

BigDoug Posted April 30, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 30, 2007 I would check with several other TA's and get their price. Specifically ask about any fees, such as cancellation, name change, etc.
