Credit for not using dining room

Recommended Posts

Just a note, if you are not ever intending to use the dining room, please let the Maitre'd know, every night you don't show up, they will still setup a place for you, and they will still remove it after you don't show up, a lot of extra work for noting, it may also help the Maitre'd move people around and accomodate other diners.

...feel free to move your dining room tips to the bistro staff, but it would not be appropriate to just remove the dining room tips as you are now a burden on the bistro staff, unless you really are just cheap and what to screw staff out of their tip money...
It would be wrong to cancel tips just because you eat in the buffet. The DR waiters and assts also serve in the Lido the midnight buffets, etc. So even if you don't use the DR they are still serving you. Why in the world would people choose not to eat in the DR unless appropriate dress is the reason.
Good point; also, I often saw my waiters working in the Lido buffet area, helping out other workers; these people work hard, all day; it's not like they just show up for a few hours a night for dinner in the dining room! Definitely don't remove the tip, unless you just plain didn't eat at all during that cruise!
