catwoman2965 Posted May 1, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2007 Just as an FYI - a number of the hotels listed are not that close to Baltimore or the port; Anything that says BWI, even though it says Baltimore, its a good 35 mins to downtown Baltimore, also, White Marsh, Frederick, Glen Burnie, not that close either. Can't say anything about any of the specific hotels, but just wanted you to be aware, not all of them are close to the port. Most likely, the hotels right in the Inner Harbor/Camden Yards downtown area are the most expensive, and those further out are less so. The "nearby" is a tad misleading. Towson, MD is not far from the port; that's another option, and certainly cheaper than the Inner Harbor hotels. Good luck finding a hotel!
isujim Posted May 1, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2007 We are staying in Baltimore prior to our September cruise. Best rate we found at the time of booking was the Tremont Plaza.........from what I have read it sounds pretty nice. It isn't close to the pier so we will be taking a taxi the morning the ship leaves........they have a shuttle which will take you to the Inner Harbor.......... Apoggi Posted May 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 1, 2007 I live in Baltimore and my suggestion is staying at a hotel near the airport. They are a lot cheaper and you can leave your car up to 10 day free of charge. At a hotel in downtown Balto. you will have to pay the hotel fee and a parking fee each day. It is well worth your while to stay at the airport and take a taxi or maybe their shuttel will take you to the pier. Good luck. Ann
