CRUISINGATORS Posted May 2, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2007 Simple quesiton. We are going to the ballet in St. Petersburg. How do you dress for it?
Sea Day Cruiser Posted May 2, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2007 After touring all day and not getting back to the ship until 6 PM, we didn't get very dressed up. Just slacks and flats instead of tennis shoes. The theater where the ballet is held (at least the one that Princess takes you to on its excursion) is not air conditioned. It was very warm and they didn't open windows or doors during the performance - just during the intermission. I thoroughly enjoyed the ballet. The night we went it was Sleeping Beauty. dbh62ark Posted May 2, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2007 If you're going on a private tour, I would ask the tour operator. I think the dress code does vary a little based on which theater you visit. Have a great trip, Donna
cruza Posted May 2, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2007 If you're going to Mariinka ballet, you need to be in formal dress (suit). There are no strict rules and nobody impose them, just you'll be uncomfortable when everybody is dressed up.
chunkylover43 Posted May 8, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 8, 2007 We attended The Nutcracker at the Conservatory. Formal wear was not required but dressy casual and above would be acceptable.
