kjkohler Posted August 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2004 We've been to St. Thomas 3 times in the past. While I do want to spend some time there this cruise, I was thinking about St. John as well. We're there from 8 to 6 if I remember correctly. I want to do some jewelry shopping in St. Thomas (unless someone says I can in St. John-diamonds in particular) but thought it might be nice to have a change of scenery this visit. INPUT???? Do we have enough time?
wwinfl91 Posted August 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2004 There isn't much in the way of shopping especially for high end jewery like Diamonds in St Johns. If you want to shop for them St Thomas is going to be where you will need to be. St John's is mostly national park, I think like 2/3 of the island was given to the country by one of the Rockefellow's I think. There is a small town with a few stores, restaurants and bars. There are some great beaches and some good snokeling but not much in the way of shopping there. Have a great next cruise.
kkorman Posted August 13, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2004 Definitely do the shopping in St. THomas. THere are a few stores in Cruz Bay... Columbian Emeralds and some local craft stores, but nothing compared to St. Thomas.
