New York Ground Transportation

We are booked on the Noordam S. Caribbean cruise sailing on 10/20. Does anyone have an opinion on the best way for 4 of us to get from JFK to the ship? I've never been to New York, so I wasn't sure. Thanks!

I did the inaugural on the Noordam. I flew into and out of JFK. Arriving, I used Taxi. Expensive! The have a Super Shuttle. It's kind of like a small bus, but much less expensive. To go back to JFK, I used HAL's transportation. It was nice but when I cruise the Noordam in December, I will use a taxi. Hope this helped.

Four people and all that luggage will need at least two taxis. I wonder if a limo can accommodate all of you. If so, I would do that.

Since there are 4 of you, you can share a cab or arrange for a car service. The cab should be a flat fee plus tolls.(not sure though) Either way, make sure you know the price beforehand. Have a great cruise:cool:

We live in NY suburbs but have talked to many people on cruises we have been on out of NYC. If they were not on the HAL transfer plan, most traveled to the ship by taxis they got from JFK and LaGUARDIA. At the end of our last cruise this past March, we were on the taxi line and there was a lovely young couple on line ahead of us. They did their own travel plans rather than using HAL. They said that the transfer that HAL was offering from the ship to the airports was much higher than getting a taxi on your own.

4 people and their luggage will never fit into a single taxi - even a Minivan-taxi, so you might as well go for the Limo...
