cruisingeurope Posted May 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2007 What beaches would you recommend for a short day visit in St. Tropez in June?
Normandie-BCN Posted May 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 17, 2007 Saint Tropez has no good beaches, only a very small one in the middle of the village. Near Saint Tropez, the most known beach is Pampelune or something like that. I do not know anything about public transpor to that beach but may be there is some. It is not very easy to get off Saint Tropez without a car, and with a car if you are in August you will spend most of the time in a jam. And no train... May be the best option would be to take some of the small boats that go along the coast and avoid roads.
CruisinGerman Posted May 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 18, 2007 As my neighbor here in Barcelona said, St. Tropez itself does not have true beaches, just little coves. Pamplone beach near St. Tropez is beautiful. The concept though is basically mini beach-clubs with a restaurant/bar and sunbathing area where you pay to sit and spend the day (similar to Cannes). They are very classy, and the food and drink are excellent. However, if you are North American, please remember that you will see a great number of topless people, some nudity, and a large number of gay people on that beach. If this makes you uncomfortable, don't go to this beach. Kind regards, Gunther and Uta
