Marseilles to Cassis - independantly

Has anyone done Cassis by themselves, I'm booked on a shore excursion but I'd like to stay all day.

I know there is a train from the marseilles Station to cassis but I can't find out where that station is located, I know someone has done it by taxi but I don't know how much that would cost.

Anyone able to help?

You can get the train to Cassis from the centre of Marseille - the station is Gare St Charles (approx 4 Euro single). Journey time is about 25 mins. Trains are quite frequent but it would be best to check your specific timings on the SNCF web site.

We did it two years ago.

 

Take a taxi from the Port and ask for the Coast route ....about 50 euros.

 

Get there early as shops close around 1pm....lunch at a bistro on the front and then take a taxi back via the Autoroute.

The train station at Cassis is a good way out of the town. You would need a taxi to take you in when you get off the train there.....perhaps taking a taxi from Marseilles would be the easiest option, considering time constraints when you're on a cruise.
