What to do in Southampton

I am arriving to Southampton the day before embarking. Our embarcation time is 3 pm. How could we spend the morning in Southampton or thereabouts until 3 pm?

Same arrangement for us. We plan to catch a train to Winchester (15 minutes) at about 9.30am and spend a couple of hours walking around the town and viewing the magnificent cathedral. 15 minute train back to Southampton at lunch time before boarding at 3pm.

I lived in Southampton for many years and there is a lot to do, but you won't really have much time, so go to West Quay, there are some nice shops. Go up to the top of John Lewis to the restaurant, have a cup of tea and look at your beautful ship waiting for you and know that very shortly you will be walking the decks!!

 

It really sets us up for our holiday!

The Maritime Museum (Titanic etc) is worth a visit, its opposite the Red Funnel IOW terminal, used to be free but a small charge is made.
