What to do with personal items while snorkeling?

We leave on Monday for our cruise and the first port of call is the Caymans. Our excursion is the Ray Runner Stingray City Snorkeling. I have a couple of questions:

--Do we have to take our passports with us when we go off the ship?

--What do you do with your personal items (like a purse or backpack) while you are on the Ray Runner or in the water snorkeling?

Thanks.

Found from experience that you can leave that stuff with the boat you are on. They tend to want no stealing because they would not get book again. The word would get out. Last time we were on Grand Cayman You only needed a photo Id and the sail and sign card. Get a water proof case or a ziplook bag to keep dry.

I put cash, cruise card, etc in a "Splash Caddy" which I attach to my vest belt.

There's a variety of designs and sizes to fit most needs. Best of all, they're PADI certified.

I'd recommend adding a few extra "Aloksak" bags to your order. Nothing lasts forever.:)
