i chose the dates and cabins on an NCL that I wanted for next April, got confirmations in my email and then went back to the website to put down deposit (within a few hours) and one reservation is gone and the other one shows a higher amount. what's up with this?

Courtesy hold ("option") lengths can vary ... from several days down to mere hours ... or sometimes NO hold time at all.

I'd ask at the time of reserving the space how long it will be held before deposit is due.

NCL confirmations generally have "DEPOSIT DUE: amount, date, time" (at least the confirmations sent to travel agents do).

If you don't meet that deadline, the res does disappear and can then be subject to whatever price is current.

update: i called NCL this morning and at first the woman on the pther end of the line could not figure out why i was quoted one price and it was showing different. she transferred me to another department who was easily able to find both room holds. i gave my credit card number and within seconds i had confirmation emails.

one email showed the originally quoted price, the other came in at more then double the price. when i pointed it out to her she had to seek her supervisors advice.

one of story is that they have to fix it tomorrow and call me back.

but i've been promised both cabins at the original rate, which has doubled today!
