going to Alaska

Recommended Posts

I.m going to Alaska in Sept. would like to know in what port has the best

kayaking tour.

We are doing the kayaking in Sitka, not sure if it is the best but it works with the other tours in the other ports. We are helicoptering to the glacier in Juneau and horseback riding in Skagway.

Don't know where you are going, you didn't say which ports. Although we did not Kayak, we did do a canoe trip to Mendenhall Glacier which included a salmon bake........It was the best!. We went during the summer and the weather was PERFECT!!.

We did the helicopter ride in Skagway and although expensive, it was well worth it. An experience not often come by.

Ketchikan was a float plane which was wonderful too.

Enjoy.

We LOVE Alaska!

While visiting Skagway we enjoyed the not to be missed White Pass Train ride. The train took us up towards the Yukon and we kyaked in a lake high in the mountains.... it was FUN and it was beautiful..... both the expereince AND the views from the train. Mirror images of the mountains in the water. Great Shore Excursion.

I have also heard that Ketchican kyaking is good also BUT Ketchican is a good place to go out of for Salmon fishing AND there's always the Lumberjack show there. :-0

Bon Voyage!

There are a couple of salmon bakes listed on the excursions, if you went to one, which one did you go/which stop?
