What a pity that one of the premier bars on Arcadia, the Crows Nest, does not sell draught beer.

It can get a little expensive(for some) drinking bottled beer for 14 days.

Perhaps it is designed to keep the hoi polloi away?

Never realised that, the plot really thickens; this is truly mysterious.

Just what are P&O up to? :)

Do you think the good people on CC will be able to help?;)

Yes, i was shocked about the coffee.

We had our meal on 2nd sitting, watched the show till nearly midnight, and then went along to the Crows Nest for a drink before bed, as had a early-start port tour next morning... I saw the liquor coffee menu on the table, and thought, ummm, a nice liquor coffee would really seal the evening, and was surprised to be told no coffees available in the evening !!!! Whats that about !

So had a baileys instead :)

Sue

Any one with any queries about Arcadia, ask me , I am on there in just over a fortnight, and will try and find out for you.

No coffee at any time. We tried for our CC meeting but were told that they do not have the facilities:(.

Should we have asked for compensation as our cruise had been clearly ruined.:rolleyes:

  • 4 weeks later...

I was thinking of Booking the Ventura for January 2009 (along with considering Royal Caribbean & Carnival) these drinks prices aren't as bad as I expected ~ take it there is 15% grat. on top?

Even so they aren't far above pub prices and not much above what we paid on Ocean Village 2 years ago (£2.35)

Cheers for the help ~ Shelley

PS Where have our tickers gone???

Hi Shelledpea,

No the good news is there is no 15% grat on top either unlike the US lines so the drinks prices are very good. Also on P & O they do a wine deal of 6 bottles for only £75.00 so that is also a very good price at £12.50 a bottle - a lot better than restaurants.

You sound like me - at parties I ALWAYS go for the wine before the food and yes, so far my liver has survived:eek:

Good to meet you.

Regards,

Babs

I think this is something to do with the design of the Bar area. It is an 'Island Bar' and seems to have been designed without the ability to really secure it when closed.

When we were on Arcadia last July, one evening the Bar was being fully cleared of stock whilst the musical duo were still performing. This meant that the Barmen traipsed backwards & forwards with a trolley, going in front of the valiant singers a number of times.

Seems a bit of a design fault to me. Shame, as the rest of the room is very nice.
