Should I pack beach towels for Alaska-to use on board? We aren't planning on laying out on the shore or anything.

Every ship we have been on had towels for you to use by the pool.

Since you will have enough to pack with 2 little ones, I would suggest that you skip the beach towels. I'm guessing that Princess provides towels at their pools, and if not, I'm sure your cabin attendant can provide any extra towels that your family may need. You will not have any need for beach towels off the ship either.

 

I sailed to Alaska on HAL last September. I found that since the trip was so port intensive, there was much less use of the pool than what one may find on a Caribbean cruise. I doubt that you will run into 'chair hogs' on an Alaskan cruise.

I sailed Golden in May to Alaska...NO...do not pack beach towels...they give them to you in the room...& on our cruise no one was in the pool til Victoria.

On Princess ships they will be in your room, your cabin steward will be happy to replace them for you. They are usually found on one of the shelves in the closet.

We didn't have them in the room but there are huge bins of them by the pools.

Princess provides beach towels for your use. Usually found in your cabin and replaced as needed.
