HeidiSD Posted May 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2007 Hi All, Has anybody been to Naples, Italy recently?. I'm leaving on Med cruise June 6th; and am concerned about health (garbage problem). Is it worth going to shore in Naples ?.
runcassrun_07 Posted May 30, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 30, 2007 We were there last June and almost did'nt get off the ship because it looked busy with vehicles and people. We decided to at least get off and say we stepped on Napels. We were recommended to go to the Pomppei tour and it was worth it. I suggest you get off the ship and do a tour. The garbage was'nt to bad, not like Jamacia. Have a great Mediterranean cruise. I'm ready to go back.

Big problem going on NOW - 10,000 tons of garbage in city. We have booked Pomppei tour, but with health hazard...burning garbage and toxic fumes...don't know if should cancel. skuttduck Posted May 30, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 30, 2007 I was just there doing the secrets of Naples tour on May 14th. Traffic was rather interesting, everyone just kind of makes their way in. I noticed no smell of garbage or anything like that.
rwdtgb Posted May 30, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 30, 2007 We were there 2 years ago and Naples was a great city to visit. We wlked up to the Galleria and then down to the water throught ped only street, stopping off at the expensive stores. Had a great Canolli and a great pizza for lunch. The people were very nice but we do speak Italian. Tom
