Activities on Journey while in Bermuda

Is it business as usual on the ship while it is docked in Bermuda, esp. at night? Most often, the ships have limited activity, shops & casino closed while in port. Would like to make the most of the ship in the evenings, while spending the days exploring Bermuda.

Any recommendations for beaches, must-see things to do in Bermuda?

I hadn't thought about the fact that the casino would be closed for 5 evenings while in port.

We like to spend time there in the evening - guess we'll save money on this trip!

Actually, the casino will be closed on 3 evenings.Monday ,Tuesday and Wednesday. These are the evenings when ship is in port.It will be open on Sat., Sun., Thurs, and Friday. These are the days when ship is at sea.

Thanks, I forgot about the days at sea. I wonder if they plan additional evening entertainment on the port days since the casino and shops will be closed. We're really looking forward to this trip. We've never had an itinerary that makes the ship a floating hotel for a few days.

Just got back this morning - nothing to do other than trivial little things and yes - some music but events on the ship were not so great while in port - no big deal unless it rains ALL DAY like it did on Tuesday. It kind of sucked.

It has been a number of years since I have been in bermuda, but I assume this is still the case: by agreement with the island government, activities on board are limited. The government of bermuda wants cruise passengers on shore spending money and not on board at clubs and shows and bingo games. I am not sure if it is law or just an agreement, but I would imagine it is not up to the cruise line to decide. For example, if a ship could have its casino open at night in port, I am pretty sure it would

Since the ship is docked on Front Street while in Hamilton, there are a lot of things to do by walking or buying a bus pass at Guest Relations and taking ferries and buses anywhere on the island. A really good deal. Frankly, we were tired early most nights since we were so active during the day. Check out the Bermuda board on Ports of Call for ideas. We liked most of the evening entertainment but didn't get to all....on nights we planned to get up and out early the next morning.
