JerseyJim2 Posted August 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2004 I was curious what was within walking distance from the ship in Nassau and Freeport. Where does the ship dock or disembark passengers? Do they dock or use tenders? What shopping and touring are nearby? We will have extra time before and after excursions and just wanted to walk around. Thanks, Jim
davy jones Posted August 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2004 Jim, The dock in Nassau is adjacent to the downtown area. There will be many ship passengers doing the same, because there will probably be other ships in port at the same time. It's pretty much shopping downtown. There are a few bar/restaurants (Senor Frogs, Hard Rock Cafe). The beaches are a short cab ride from the pier. The taxis are fine. The rates are regulated by the goverment (Atlantis is $4 pp) and there is usually some official watching over the activity at the pier.

hill6 Posted August 12, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2004 In Freeport there is a little area with some stands set up but nothing else at the pier.
