Leixoes - no excursion

The same thing was posted for this port when we cruised last spring. Do they re-invent their excursions for each trip? The ship was late leaving Lisbon, so arrived late in Leixos, leaving barely enough time to take a taxi into Oporto and back ($20-30). Our daughter and husband took the ship tour into Lisbon, with a tour of the Graham's port cellars. They said it was the best tour of the cruise. We walked a block up to a grocery store and bought some wine, (which we drank during dinner) then had a beer at the sailors bar across the street from the ship. Very authentic, including working girls. They also did the ship tour of Santiago de Campostella, which was expensive, but worth every penny.

Windstar treats you like a grownup. You can take all the liquor you want on board. You are welcome to bring your own wine to the table, but there is a corkage fee- $5 or $10, I forget which. We are signed up for a Holland America cruise, only because some dear friends are having an anniversary, and I can't believe we are not allowed to bring our own liquor into a suite for entertaining.
