Honeybear Posted June 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2007 I understand the SENSATION will be going into dry-dock for a face lift. Does anyone know when and how long this will take? Where will it be going after it gets back? I LOVE the SENSATION and I'm ready to go!
cruisinsly Posted June 3, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2007 I am not sure when either. I do remember a time ago that someone had posted something about a dry dock calander. If anyone has that website, can you please post it again? Thanks!
futaba951 Posted June 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 3, 2007 I've heard rumors of Sensation coming to Mobile in November. It would need to be dry docked prior to that as it would need the propulsion problems repaired. As luck would have it Atlantic Marine in Mobile is where Sensation dry docked in March 2006 before moving to Florida. How convenient and timely would that be if the rumors turn out to be true? :)
Honeybear Posted June 3, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted June 3, 2007 Do you know, does it take days, weeks, months, or a year to uplift and repair the ship? Thanks, Deena63@verizon.net
futaba951 Posted June 3, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2007 Do you know, does it take days, weeks, months, or a year to uplift and repair the ship? Thanks, Deena63@verizon.net Usually 2-5 weeks depending on the extent of the work to be done. Dry docks are mainly to service and inspect the hull that is normally under water. Any work above the water line and interior cosmetics can be done even if the ship is in the water so it doesn't need a dry dock for that kind of work. Even if the ship is out of service for a month it may only spend a week of that time actually out of the water.

luv2cruise5 Posted June 4, 2007 #7 Share Posted June 4, 2007 Okay, here is my question. What happens if we have a cruise booked on the Sensation out of florida for March 08 and she is moving to Mobile?
SandyW Posted June 4, 2007 #8 Share Posted June 4, 2007 You might like to read the article on Carnival's site that tells what they will be doing with all the Fantasy Class ships. I'm not sure how to make it an actual link.... http://www.carnival.com/CMS/Articles/eof_virtual2007.aspx The article is entitled: Children's Water Parks, Exclusive Adults-Only Areas to be Introduced As Part of Carnival's $250 Million Evolutions of Fun Initiative Inspiration and Imagination are this year...with the rest following in 2008 and 2009. luv2....I'm guessing if you booked a cruise on the Sensation out of Florida in March of 08 that is where it will be leaving from. big_duck Posted June 4, 2007 #9 Share Posted June 4, 2007 Okay, here is my question. What happens if we have a cruise booked on the Sensation out of florida for March 08 and she is moving to Mobile? Your cruise on the Sensation will be cancelled. Wether or not you are offered a replacement or just given your money back depends on if the Sensation is replaced by a different ship or not. crusinmama06 Posted June 4, 2007 #10 Share Posted June 4, 2007 I thought Sensation already got the new look? When I first booked a group cruise for this August, that was the one thing everyone was talking about that it got a new renovation that caused lots of problems. Is it going back into drydock?
