kdowneymd Posted June 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2007 We are thinking of spending the afternoon at La Fontelina (having lunch) after touring island in the morning. Would appreciate any information from anyone who has been there
shemp2000 Posted June 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2007 Not sure the type of info you are looking for. We went to one beach in Capri, it had large pebbles (no sand) and was fairly small
Hanson26.2 Posted June 9, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2007 We had a great afternoon at the beach in Capri a couple of years ago. Granted, there wasn't any sand but I think the views more than made up for it. We are planning to go back to Marina Piccolo for the afternoon in a few weeks. Check out the link below......just beautiful! http://www.capri.net/salsa/lang/en/card1_id/241/page/card.html
susietb Posted June 10, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2007 We have stayed in Capri several times and La Fontellina is one of our favorite "ristorante bagne". The food is delicious, try the "fritta fontellina" as an appetizer. Also the linguine vongole, ensalada verde, ensalada caprese and any other fresh fish that they are offering that day. They also make a wonderful "sangria" filled with peaches, cherries and any other superb fresh fruit. I seem to remember that their deserts were wonderful as well. You can reach La Fontellina on a shuttle boat from the Marina Piccolo or by climbing down the path from Punta Tragara. A fabulous lunch and umbrella and chair rental should run you about $120, (for 2) but it will be a memorable afternoon. During the week it's easy to get a "perch on one of the rocks", but if you are there on Sunday it would be better if you can reserve ahead of time. We will be spending the day there in August when we dock in Naples for the day.
