Roger35 Posted June 16, 2007 #26 Share Posted June 16, 2007 We are doing the Athens to Rome cruise in Sept. We are leaving the ship at the Positano/Amalfi stop. Could you please tell me where you docked?

Roger35 Posted June 17, 2007 #28 Share Posted June 17, 2007 In my post asking where the ship docked for the Positano/Amalfi stop, I should have asked where the tender docks. Is it in Positano or Amalfi? I want to make taxi arrangements .

thrpy Posted December 11, 2007 #30 Share Posted December 11, 2007 J&W B: I'm the same way, I call it being an "odds photographer", odds are, that if you take enough pictures, some of them are going to come out the way you want them. I have to admit that that is the same way that I take pictures and movies. We did the Alaska cruise with 2 days in Fairbanks and 2 at Denali. Ended up with a 22 minute video covering the highlights. 6 gig plus. Thinking that i might get by with a 3 of the 2 gig thumb drives or maybe a couple of the 4 gig's. What make portable hard drive did you take, any problems with it, i.e. power issues with their computers? Appreciate any feedback. I'm using a Canon S2 at 5 megapixels and use the burst often. And the panoramic's are fun. Especially like at Polychrome Pass.
Penzance Posted December 11, 2007 #31 Share Posted December 11, 2007 J&W B Glad to hear that your Oceania cruise was wonderful. My husband and I are spending a few days in Athens after we disembark from the Nautica in June. How did you enjoy Athens? We are hoping to just tour on our own as most things are within walking distance from our hotel in the Plaka area. Any tips or recommendations would be appreciated. And, one last question, we have a very early flight out of Athens airport - they recommend that we get there three hours prior to departure. Did you find this really necessary? Thank you. forensic Posted December 15, 2007 #32 Share Posted December 15, 2007 We were fortunate enought that our daughter and her family lived in Catania, Sicily for about 5 years. Our favorite place was Taormina, it is so charming, has wonderful shops, restaurants, bakeries, etc. IF you can afford it AT ALL I highly recommed taking a side trip to Taormina!!:D
